Packing Guide

A guide to help pack your suitcases!

To simplify your life and suitcase, here is a guide to ensure you have everything you need for a beautiful, unforgettable week in Italy! Many items that are forgotten can likely be bought or borrowed. Don't worry too much!

Luggage limits (for most airlines, be sure to check baggage limits depending on who you fly with):

-2 checked luggage 50 lbs each (total of 100 lbs.)

On the plane:

-1 carry-on item (stowed in overhead bin)

-1 personal item

-1 bag of food for immediate consumption

(side note: fresh fruit, meats, etc.) are not allowed.

Liquids: maximum of 3.4 ounces

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.

For larger items, they must be in your checked luggage under the plane. For specific weight instructions, check with the carrier.

Should you want to purchase any tobacco or alcohol for the wedding, you must purchase it at Duty-Free. It must be sealed until you arrive in Italy.

For any questions regarding liquids, check their website:

TSA Liquid rules

TSA Medication guidelines

TSA: What can I bring? Items you may be unsure of

Remember to bring the following:

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Passport, ID, and travel Itinerary details with extra copies.

CASH: Cash is king, and if you want to go to a small restaurant, they are more likely to accept this form of payment.

WEDDING ATTIRE: Please bring black tie attire. Keep in mind the wedding will be outdoors, but. you will have access to being inside the villa throughout the day.

Shirts/short sleeves and tank tops: a must for Italian weather

Pants-mostly shorts to stay cool and a pair of long pants for nice late dinners (it is common for Italians to eat dinner much later than Americans)

A workout outfit

Dresses-light dresses

Light jacket (chilly, late-night dinners)

Pajamas and sleepwear

Undergarments-underwear, bras, socks, camis, stockings, shapewear

Toiletries:

toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, skincare, tweezers, shaving essentials, cotton balls/swabs, etc.

Accessories: Sunglasses and hats

Shoes: formal pair/heels for wedding, comfortable pair for walking/activities, sandals, house shoes if you'd like

Sunblock: Don't forget this!

Day bag: It's recommended to bring a small backpack or purse to bring out with you. This should keep your sunglasses, water bottle, wallet, portable chargers, etc.

A reusable water bottle: to refill and keep yourself hydrated. Many cities in Rome will have freshwater fountains for you to use and fill up your bottle.

Adapter: Don't forget to bring an electric converter. Bringing 2 or more is great to charge multiple electronics at once.

Charging cables: Make sure you have all the ones you need and extra

Portable battery pack: You'll want to be fully charged at all times!

Swimsuit: The villa has a swimsuit on the property! If you plan to take a dip, don't forget this.

Towels: the villa will provide towels, but if you'd like to bring your own, this isn't a bad idea.

Miscellaneous items: vitamins, important medication, allergy medication, painkillers, Tums (we are over 30 now), cold medicine, itch reliever, safety pins, scissors, small sewing kit

(Optional) Goodies for airline crew: This may make your journey a little more pleasant. Though not required it is a nice touch. A simple bag of American candy or a thoughtful item that comes in bulk (face masks, chapstick, gum, mints, etc.) goes a long way. Remember to keep within the guidelines of TSA for liquids.

A washer will be on site. Keep in mind our party is huge, so you will need to be strategic in when to wash your clothes. Also, Europe is famous for not having dryers. It is likely your items will need to hang dry. Keep this in mind as you pack your suitcase.
